October 29, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Class Navigation
Self-Help Enterprises and the Greater Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) invite you to a Groundwater Sustainability Plan Review Workshop.
The future of groundwater management is underway. As required under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), the Greater Kaweah GSA developed a draft Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP). This plan will determine how groundwater will be managed for years to come and includes important issues that can affect the water you use at home.
The purpose of this workshop is to review key chapters of the GSP and provide an opportunity for community residents to learn and voice their concerns. Your comments on this Plan are vital to helping address water quality and water supply challenges in your community.
DISCUSSION TOPICS:
- Overview of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act
- Who is responsible for Managing Groundwater – Local Groundwater Sustainability Agency
- Review Draft Groundwater Sustainability Plan
- Community Questions, Comments and Recommendations
Eric Osterling, General Manager of the Greater Kaweah GSA, will be in attendance to present and answer questions.
The 90-day public review and comment period will conclude on December 16, 2019. A Public Hearing will take place on December 16, 2019 at 5 pm at 2975 N. Farmersville, Farmersville.
