SHE Continues Construction on Vital Affordable Housing Projects

Posted on April 29, 2020

While Real Estate Development has suspended all non-essential travel and moved meetings to teleconference, construction on vital affordable housing projects continues with precautions. Here are updates on the construction of our multi-family projects:

Annadale Commons, Fresno:
Annadale Commons is a 40-unit senior housing project in SW Fresno, and is scheduled for construction completion by June 2020. The project is 90% complete and SHE continues to coordinate the completion of final construction deliverables. This is SHE’s first affordable rental housing project in Fresno, and SHE is excited to open Annadale Commons soon!

Mariposa Oaks Apartments, Mariposa:
This is an old 24-unit USDA rental housing project that SHE acquired last year to preserve as affordable housing. The units are currently being rehabbed and updated, and we are making accessibility improvements throughout the site as well as adding a small playground for children. This is our first housing project in Mariposa County

Nupchi Xo’oy, Porterville:
The Nupchi project is a collaboration between the Housing Authority of the Tule River Indian H. A. and SHE. The project consists of 15 single-family houses and 25 townhouse units (mix of 3 and 4 bedroom). The site will include features such as a community building, a children’s playground, and BBQ areas for the residents. Construction is underway with several of the single family dwellings already well into the framing stage, giving shape to the project area.

Stonegate Village 1 and 2, Patterson:
Stonegate Village 1 and 2 is a 138-unit affordable rental housing project currently under construction in Patterson, CA. All of the foundations have been poured for the 23 residential buildings, as well as for the shared community building. Roughly 50%, or 12 buildings, have completed framing, while 6 buildings, or 25%, have completed rough mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. The onsite joint trench is currently being installed and undergoing inspection. Through funding from the State’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities grant program, Stonegate Village will provide offsite improvements such as sidewalks, bike lanes, and urban greening. Stonegate Village has also partnered with the Turlock Irrigation District (TID) for a pilot project to offer Virtual Net Energy Metering for the project’s solar PV system, which will not only save the project and its residents money, but also help future affordable rental housing projects build efficient solar systems in the TID service area moving forward.

Valley Oaks, Oakhurst:
Valley Oaks is an existing 24-unit USDA rental housing project in Oakhurst. SHE recently acquired Valley Oaks to preserve the units as affordable housing. SHE will be commencing a major rehabilitation of the project in May that will include new interiors, site accessibility improvements and the addition of solar PV.
