Self-Help Enterprises assisted the City of Farmersville in securing grants from USDA Rural Development and the State Water Resources Control Board in order to extend water services to the community of Cameron Creek Colony where some people are currently living in homes without running water.
Self-Help Enterprises was awarded a $25,000 Wells Fargo Clean Technology and Innovation
grant. The funds will be utilized to assist Valley residents affected by the drought.
With residents without water to drink, cook, clean or shower, FHCN’s donation will support Self-Help Enterprises’ efforts to provide immediate relief to these residents who have been adversely affected by the drought.
Through the Housing Rehabilitation Program, a partnership between the City of Lindsay and Self-Help Enterprises, Adelfa was able to re-build her home after a fire destroyed her house.
Part 5: Self-Help Enterprises is working with rural areas in Kern County to help develop funds to assist communities in their efforts to obtain clean drinking water.
