Salary: $26.53-$41.15 hourly

Self-Help Enterprises (SHE), a nationally recognized nonprofit organization specializing in housing and community development, is seeking a Housing Specialist to join our Resident Services team. This is a meaningful opportunity to help create stronger, healthier, and more connected communities by supporting residents in SHE’s rental housing.
As a Housing Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying resident needs and connecting families with valuable programs and resources. From educational classes and health services to youth programs and community partnerships, you will help ensure our residents have the tools and opportunities they need to thrive. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, highly organized, and passionate about community building. You thrive in collaborative settings, enjoy presenting to groups and building partnerships, and can balance multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document resident needs across SHE rental communities
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee services such as ESL classes, health services, and after-school programs
- Collaborate with community partners to bring services and resources to SHE multifamily housing sites
- Research and apply for funding opportunities to support resident service programs
- Prepare proposals, reports, and other written materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Connect with residents to obtain feedback and incorporate their voices into program design
- Collect and analyze data to demonstrate program impact
- Represent SHE professionally with residents, community groups, and partners
- Frequently travel to multifamily housing sites across Self-Help Enterprises’ service area
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree, equivalent training, or relevant job experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle
