As an Accounting Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing and analyzing the financial components of real estate development projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, finance staff, title companies, and executive leadership to ensure financial efficiency, compliance, and successful project execution. Responsibilities
- Analyze Construction in Progress (CIP) and prepare monthly reports, including Land Investment and Note Payable.
- Serve as a liaison with Finance and external stakeholders (e.g., title companies, accountants).
- Track developer fees, CMF funds, and short-term loan repayments.
- Submit reports for specialized programs (e.g., NMTC, BCLT).
- Recommend process improvements and ensure accounting accuracy.
- Prepare financial analyses for executive leadership.
- Prepare, submit, and review draws for construction financing.
- Train project managers on draw processes and documentation.
- Facilitate LIHTC cost certifications and loan closings (predevelopment to permanent).
- Develop and maintain complex project proformas, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
Must Haves
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with complex spreadsheets.
- Experience with affordable housing finance, including LIHTC and construction lending, is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
