Gary Rodriguez served as President of the Board of Directors in 2000 – 2001. Gary is a resident of Shafter, Kern County.  Mr. Rodriguez teaches for Richland School District and Bakersfield Adult School where he specializes in Citizenship classes.  He first became acquainted with Self-Help Enterprises while working on the South Shafter Water Project.  Rodriguez is a well-known community organizer and activist and has served on the Shafter Community Action Committee, Smith's Corner Group for Better Water and Healthier Environment, South Shafter Coalition for Better Water and the Shafter Association for Bilingual/Bicultural Education.  He is currently an Executive Board member for the Richland Teacher's Association.
